OAPEN-UK project

JISC (Joint Information Syestems Committee), a British non-departmental public body whose role is to support post-16 and higher education and research by providing leadership in the use of Information and Communications Technology, is embarking on a new project called OAPEN-UK to explore the issues impacting upon the publishing of scholarly monographs in the humanities and social sciences.

For this purpose, JISC made freely available 60 HSS scholarly monographs selected from the following publishers: Palgrave Macmillan, Taylor and Francis, Berg Publishers, Liverpool University Press and University Wales Press.

The titles are available under creative commons licensing and can be downloaded in PDF from the OAPEN Library platform. They are also available in Google Book Search as 100% previews and the T&F titles and Palgrave titles will be available on their own platforms.
