Last year Google launched his Google Art Project with the purpose to digitalize artworks collected in 17 museums around the world.
At today the project includes more than 30.000 artworks held by 155 museums in 40 countries.
As always Google likes to impress with its numbers...
But it's not just a question of numbers: in the website it's possible to browse by country, collection/museum, artist and artwork.
For some collection a virtual tour is available and you can easily visit the museum by following the plans in the left of the screen.
With this project Google breaks down the barriers of distance and allows you to explore museum that you thought you could not visit during your life.
