An interview to Juan Carlos De Martin (professor at Politecnico di Torino) about incrising prices of academic journals was published in te current issue of Internazionale.
Reading to the article I have found the link to an old very interesting article published on The Guardian in 2011.
I decided to share it because I think that it shows very well the situation of libraries, not only in Iitaly.
The price of scientific journals and databases is increasing every year and the libraries budgets decrease.
Since it is impossible to not subscribe to Nature, Science and all the other important resources, libraries have to make cuts on books, supplies and staff.
